     While I can't speak for how other Americans may choose to feel. I
will say that the average American attitude does contain a certain amount
of 'We are the best'. That is not a bad thing. This says to me that we will
try to be the best at what we choose to be. Which often times also involves
being the biggest and the loudest. That does not prevent you and/or your
countrymen and women from feeling the same way about yourselves. The area
where I think it may cause problems is when that attitude is taken to
extremes. As in we are the best and you are no better than naval lint and
should no longer exist. Which is something I do not see in basic American
attitude. I think that the position that America occupies in the global
picture there is bound to be a certain amount of errogance. But I do not
see that errogance in any unexpected amount or that it is causing any
problems. Except for those that may have already decided that Americans
are bad and that most anything about the American way somehow contributes
to that feeling of Americans being bad.

    That is because that is what you CHOOSE to think. As I have already
stated. Try treating people based on how THEY act and not based on some
preconceived notion regarding what country they may come from. I may think
that one of your countrymen is an ass. But that doesn't mean that I will
apply that opinion to you until such a time as YOU show me that you deserve
it.
