Ärende: How to access Z1's secret society ... the cracking of the Z1C-echo

Dear all,
 
Fidonet is a wonderfull society with all kinds of participants, their
politics, their echoes, their hang-ups ...
 
Take for example the Z1-sysops (at least a subset of them), their boss the Z1C
and their wonderfull secret society, also sometimes called the "Z1C"-echo ...
very secretive.
 
The Z1-sysops really have been beaten into submission. Just read the message
which has just appeared some hours ago in that echo:

Hello Folks,
 
My system is configured to not allow "general" areafix requests to this echo,
as all of your systems should be set.  When someone asks me for a connection
to the Z1C echo, it requires a manual addition of the node, and a change to
his/her flags in my set up.  I hope all of you have configured this echo that
way as well.
 
Vince Coen, Region 25 Coordinator, has asked me for a link to this echo.  I
told him we normally take a vote on allowing other-zone participants in here.
 
Those of you who have been here for a while probably remember we have a few
other Zone members in here now:
 
2:2448/44: Robert Bashe
R24C Torsten Bamberg
2:5030/1520: Andrey Geyko
 
All of these folks post here now and again, and have agreed to not pass this
echo on to others as we've requested.
 
Those of you who know Vince probably remember him to be not of a political
mindset (a plus in my mind <grin>).
 
I should add, btw, 2 or 3 times Ward Dossche (Z2C) has asked for access and 2
or 3 times we've refused him access here.  So if you feel you'd rather not
allow Vince access, speak up.
 
So what do the rest of you feel about allowing Vince to connect to this echo?

Very interesting ... the secret society exposed I should say.
 
Amazingly, Z2 has a similar echo: ENET.SYSOP.
 
This is what Z1C quite recently had to say about her link to it (because I do
invite all ZCs to participate and it can be passed-on read-only to the whole
universe). An excerpt from the ZCC-echo:

So, I looked into it and the link seemed to work ... and Z1C was happy about
it as evidenced by this message.

Amazing, when Z1C does not seem to have access to ENET.SYSOP anymore she
sorta flags the issue for investigation and expresses satisfaction when it
does seem to work [again?]
 
All ZCs here have access to ENET.SYSOP, Scott Little is linked there too and
Manuel would have it in a flash should he so desire. I do have unlimited
access to the same Z4-echo ... it's called "reciprocity".
 
Reciprocity is an evolutionary social phenomenon in which one organism (eg a
human) is prepared to provide a service to something/someone else when the
organism knows that later, or at the same time, the same kind of deed [or
another] can be expected in return.
 
ENET.SYSOP is an open thing, I honestly believe that my colleague ZCs benefit
from knowing and understanding what lives in the other zones. There's very
little to be gained from fostering secret societies, however, that's Z1 and
its ZC for you.
 
Oh, BTW Vince, in case the link to Z1C is refused by the powers that be, I can
give you one if you want.
