   We could have an interesting debate on the comparison of Dungeness
   and Maryland steamed crabs.   The best Dungeness I've had was the
   ones that Hap cooked fresh for us.  I had one at a previous Seattle
   trip at a restaurant that was dismal -- over cooked, dry and void of
   the really good crabby bits.

  Actually, it is common.   Many places offer you a choice of buying
  crab by the piece or buying an all you can eat.   At one place we
  visited (Kaufman's) the AYCE was $28.   Or you could buy crabs at a
  price of $35 to $80 per dozen depending on the size you ordered.   The
  $35 were called "medium".   The $80 were called "monsters".   When you
  order the AYCE, the crabs you get served are "at most medium", and may
  also be culls (e.g. missing claw).   The smaller the crab, the less
  meat and the harder to pick it out.  I really don't know how many
  crabs the average person might eat -- on the few occasions I have done
  it I tended to go with something like six large or jumbo, which is
  still at a price about the same as AYCE -- but enough for me.

  We've seen about the same AYCE prices at some other places we have
  researched also.

  Of course, there are some who say that eating crabs is a negative
  calorie experience -- i.e. it takes more work to do it than you get
  out of them:-}}


MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: SUNEETA'S SINDHI CHICKEN
 Categories: Chicken, Indian
      Yield: 4 servings
 
      3 tb Oil
      1    Cinnamon stick
      4    Cloves, whole
      1    Bay leaf
  1 1/2 c  Onion; finely chopped
      6    Garlic clove; minced
           Ginger, fresh, 1 1/2";
           -minced
  1 1/2 c  Tomato; finely chopped
  1 1/2 ts Coriander, ground
    3/4 ts Cumin, ground
    1/2 ts Indian chillie powder
    1/2 ts Turmeric
           Salt; to taste
      1 c  Yogurt
      8    Chicken thigh; skinned
      2 tb Cilantro, fresh; chopped
 
  Heat oil in a 3-quart saucepan on medium high heat.  Sauté cinnamon,
  cloves & bay leaf 1 minute.  Add onion & sauté until dark brown
  (about 20-25 minutes), stirring frequently to prevent burning.  Add
  garlic & ginger; cook 2 minutes.  Add tomatoes & cook until soft,
  about 8 minutes. Mash with back of spoon.  Add coriander, cumin,
  chillie powder, turmeric & salt. Cook 2 to 3 minutes.  Add yogurt;
  mix well. Add chicken. Cover & cook on medium heat until chicken is
  tender. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
