They weren't especially garlicky. Nor did they have any appreciable 
taste. I donated them to an Auto Zone open house where they were 
prepared on a gas grill unit and then typically slathered with mustard, 
catsup and sweet pickle relish ... precluding their need to have any 
significant flavour of their own.

Last week I grabbed a pair of packages from the local Sav-A-Lot (Neiman 
Foods (Cub, County Market, etc)) that were priced 99c/lb for both Polish
sausage and bratwurst. My wallet made me do it even though my brain was 
crying out, "You're a dummy".

Turns out my brain was right. Not flavourless at all. But, a nasty taste
and horrid mouthfeel that no amount of spicy mustard would subsume. 

I did put them to good use, however. My neighbour lady has a pair of 
small, very noisy, aggressive mutts. I donated the nasty sausages in 
their direction - and the nervous little barstids were amazingly quiet 
for nearly three days.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Eggplant And Shrimp Bake
 Categories: Emeril, Seafood, Eggplant
      Yield: 4 servings
 
    1/4 c  Olive oil
      1 md Eggplant; peeled, in 1"
           - cubes (about 1 pound)
  1 1/2 ts Salt
    1/2 ts Cayenne
    1/4 ts Freshly ground black pepper
      1 c  Chopped onions
    1/4 c  Chopped bell peppers
    1/4 c  Chopped celery
    1/2 lb Medium shrimp, peeled,
           - deveined, in 1" pieces
    1/2 ts Dried thyme
    1/2 ts Dried oregano
      2 tb Minced garlic
      2 c  Water
      2 tb Chopped parsley
      1 c  Dried fine bread crumbs
    1/2 c  Grated Parmesan
 
  Preheat the oven to 375ºF.   Heat the oil in a large skillet over
  medium-high heat. Add the eggplant, salt, cayenne, and black pepper.
  Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes, or until slightly soft. Add the onions,
  bell peppers, and celery and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes, or until
  slightly wilted. Add the shrimp, thyme, oregano, and garlic. Stir and
  cook for about 1 minute, or until the shrimp turns pink. Add the
  water and parsley and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring. Remove from
  the heat and add the bread crumbs and cheese. Mix well.   Spoon into
  a casserole dish and bake for about 45 minutes, or until bubbly and
  golden brown.  
  
  Serve hot.
  
  Yield: 4 servings
