Looks like Doc's is down and out again...seems like just a trickle of mail!

Style and form are just two components that are judged during a meet. Used 
to be that it was no more than 30% of your score with difficulty of moves, 
about 20%, number of waves about 40% and ettiquette about 10%. You 
could be aggressive but not obnoxious (grin). When I worked as a waiter in 
Waikiki, I worked under the 6 foot rule....when the waves were over 6 feet 
they didn't even expect me to show up, many surfer types used to get jobs 
that way! If you spend a single winter looking at north shore surf, you'll 
change your definition of "big surf" forever!

Well it was a short phase of my life and glory was certainly fleeting! I doubt
if 
anyone remembers most of the people I surfed/competed against in those 
days. Still I loved it and am glad that I got to experience it! 

-> We're down to under 100 days here (double digit midget) so we're going
-> back to some of our favorite places to eat for what will probably be the
-> last time for most of them.  We know we'll hit the hole in the wall
-> Korean place at least once more but there are several we've been to once
-> and will return to once more before leaving.  One of Steve's uncles is
-> coming in next week for a visit so we'll probably take him to our
-> favorite seafood place and possibly a luau.  I do want to go back to the
-> German/Austrian place over in Hawaii Kai before leaving, maybe for my
-> birthday next month.  There's also an Italian one down in the Ward
-> complex that we want to try before leaving.

So much to do and so little time! At least Steve's not being rotated to Iraq. 
One of my friends here is headed back for his third rotation.....held on a stop

loss and really unhappy about it this time. One of the Officers in his unit is 
refusing to go and may get courtmartialled over it. Now the troops are calling 
it iraqnam.
