Thanks for this. I'm surprised to note that I've in fact
tasted and enjoyed most of these.

I did point out recently to Dale that CU is very conservative
in the taste bud department, and though I tend to agree with
the gist of their recommendations (I find their very good to
excellent to be my fair to very good), I often prefer things
they downgrade. As would the Wine Spectator, Advocate, and
Swiller. My favorite wines would probably rate fair to good
to CU. We would likely agree on poor ones, though.

 BF> $9.80  Easy drinking, jammy, with ripe black fruit and wood.

Would not buy. Would drink if free.

Have bought; will buy again.

 BF> CHARDONNAY Dry, medium-bodied; good with foods with butter, cream,

Have bought; probably would not buy again.

Have bought; would buy at $3.99.

 BF> MERLOT Dry, medium-bodied; good with barbecued ribs, roasted dishes.
 BF> Concha y Toro Casillero Del Diablo (Chile) 2005
 BF> 8.60  Rich ripe fruit flavors with good tannin and acidity. Very
 BF> smooth. 

Would buy. Have tried many Concha y Toro products and respect them,
despite what Ian points out (that they use pesticides and child
labor).

 BF> 9.20  Full-flavored, with ample fruit. Medium- to full-bodied.

Have tasted. Would not buy but would drink if free.

 BF> PINOT GRIGIO Dry, light-bodied; good with finger foods, seafood,

Have tasted. Might buy. Have been fond of Hogue wines for a long time.

Have tasted. Would not buy.

 BF> RIESLING Very slightly sweet, medium-bodied; good with seafood, hors

Have bought, will buy but only at $4.99.
