Like I said.  The walls of my garage are storage space.  The near wall that is
part of the house doesn't have the 3" to spare.

Pretty much.  It's stay in the A/C weather.

Not fun.

Not particularly, no.  As long as the car starts, I'm happy.  It's been
cold enough here a few times that I had to wait until the temperature
climbed above zero before I could get a car to turn over.

Here, the frost line is 45" below ground - it thaws out eventually, but in
winter it can be frozen solid that far down and usually is.

If you live in a place with lots of local markets and good public
transportation, who needs one?  Here in suburbia everything is spread out,
and public transport sucks.
