======================

-> RH> Stories told in sermon illustrations. (G)
->
-> OK, that's good enough proof. Our one pastor in AZ used to tell stories
-> about the 5 kids in his family & being piled into the back of a station
-> wagon. Steve & I had no problems understanding; we'd been raised as
-> part of 5 kid families with the parents driving a station wagon.
->
We were a two kid family, and we had a station wagon too ... and often
crammed five kids back there when we had friends along. I can remember
cramming six into the back of my dad's old Chrysler New Yorker. The trunk
in that thing could hold a 10-speed without taking the front wheel off.

-> RH> Yep. I've seen some pretty plastic and some really butt-ugly gold.
-> RH> OTOH, the gold you can at least melt down and recast!
->
-> True, if you have a metalsmith in the area. I'd have to search one

...or you find a college with metalsmithing classes.

-> out--one of the fun parts of moving is finding new connections. We've
-> not yet found a natural foods store that carries stuff in bulk bins.

No Wild Oats, Whole Foods, or Trader Joe's in the area?

-> RH> About two months ago I figured it was high time I finished it off.
->
-> I found my bin of UFOs yesterday. It's stuff I cut out in HI but planned
-> to finish here for the most part, with some things that just need minor
-> finishing work like hems, buttons, etc in it as well.
->
Unidentified half-Finished Objects?

-> RH> spent tonight restringing one necklace and creating a second one
->
-> I spent last night at church for supper, Bible study/prayer time & choir
-> practice. Days are spent unpacking & trying to get the house in order.
-> Found my baby crock pot so it's got a small beef roast in it today. I
-> found my pots and pans a couple of hours ago.

Treasure!

-> RH> It depends. When my pressure nerves go wonky, like tonight, things
->  RH> can get a little strange.
->
-> Want to borrow my cane?

Got one, thanks; I just never use it.

-> RH> My mother likes that Birdseye nuke in bag stuff. I think it's OK,
->  RH> with reservations.
->
-> That's the brand we got; I can just see old Clarence spinning in his
-> grave over the quality (or lack thereof).

The stuff with the "sauce" on it would give him catfits.

-> Well, I've uncovered most of my cookware now so I won't bother with
-> veggie bowls. Have to get a small freezer so I can do some stock up
-> cooking. I think I'll try & find a home for most of my canning jars
-> (easily replaceable if I need to) and about half of my freezer boxes
-> (smaller freezer, won't hold as many).
->
We have a big old chest freezer here - harvest gold - that's full of all
sorts of things. They turn up at tag sales sometimes, when someone's
moving.

-> RH> My sister's cat Dot likes giftwrap ribbon and string. She'll eat
it
-> RH> if she can. Indoor cats eat weird stuff.
->
-> Our last cat would pretty well ignore my machine sewing but had a 6th
-> sense of when I was working with elastic. She didn't care for many toys
-> but loved to play with elastic as I was trying to insert it. She also
-> loved lap time when I was working on a counted cross stitch project; I
-> don't know how many things have Jenny fur stitched in as part of the
-> design.

That sounds like Louise; she loves rubber bands. She plays with them and
chews them, but I've never seen her actually try to eat one. She's forever
crawling on top of the computer when I'm working.

-> RH> drafted with some guys who were sharecropper's kids; they thought
-> RH> getting up at 5AM was normal, but shoes were a novelty.
->
-> Now they make them stay in school until age 16--shoes may still be a
-> novelty in some parts of the south tho.

The places, where as the joke goes, we po' - too broke to afford the extra
'o' and 'r'!

-> -> to even square some of them up-make it taper a bit to the waist.
->
-> RH> It ended up elastic - no tapering needed.
->
-> I'd still, even with an elastic waist, try to fit it a bit more.
-> Nothing worse than a big bulge of fabric at your belly level when you
-> sit down; if it can be reduced by better fitting, then I'll do so.

Only the front panel was quilted. The rest was tailored more, although I
probably could have done a better job.
