In either case, the goalie that allows the ball to enter his net thrown
from that far away, should be fired. So should the one who throws it into
his own net, or at least give him a kick in the groin. Quarterbacks have
been known to take a hit in the end zone too, thus giving the opposing
team posession of the ball and two points.

Most of those were bounced off the goalie or he lost control of the ball,
they weren't deliberate goals for the other team on purpose.

That's why I said 'yet to evolve'. I think it was that they played an
early version of soccer with a smaller ball.
