That is still very expensive. If there were 4 or 6 lamps in that fixture, they
perobably are of thw 5 Watt type. Those can de had for EUR 1,50 (aprox $2)
each.

The leds will hold forever, but the printed cicuit may fail due to corrosion or
other misheap.

I have been working with leds for 40 years. Never ever had to replace the led
itself one. But I have had other problems with led fixtures.

Those are quite common here for new cars. Also for turn indicator lights.
Headlights is another story.
