Only difference being that the Israelis have never screamingly demanded to
"drive the Palastinians into the sea". And let's not forget who attacked whom
from a perceived position of military superiority in 1947 - many apparently
have.

If the Arabs had been sensible back in those days, instead of wildly screaming
and wanting to kill everyone in sight, they'd have one hell of a lot more
territory (and an independent state) than they do now. The original partition
plan was more than generous to the Palastinians, but they threw their
advantages away in their desire to kill anyone in signt. Not only jews - there
were plenty of moderate Palastinians who were murdered by their "brothers",
too. Arab "brotherhood" is famous - or infamous - for brotherly violence - the
only person an Arab hates more than a jew is another Arab.

No, because they did for themselves what other nations - including the USA and
unfortunately Canada - wouldn't do for them: erect a "safe haven" for jews in
this generally unfriendly world. And thank heaven, are now strong enough to
defend themselves.

The USA supports Israel for two reasons: one is because there are plenty of
jewish voters in the States - but the other is because without Israel, the
middle east would be a mass of terror organizations, dictatorships and other
horts of violence that would endanger the security of the region and probably
lead to WWIII at some point in time.

The reason the Germans support Israel is obvious - although the Arabs still
admire Germany because of the German efforts at places like Sobibor and
Auschwitz ;-((

Which is not the case. You're thinking of Hagena, which was never an official
Israeli organization and was, in fact, damned many times by David bin Gurion
for it's excesses. Look for Arab nationalists who damn Hamas & Co if you have
plenty of time and don't mind disappointment.

"Neighboring"? Read up on the partition.

And why does the "military might" even exist? Just for the fun of it? Or to
defend the nation against aggressive Arabs?
