Let me put it this way, do not use this explanation in a doctoral thesis,
because you would be "walking on thin ice"... ;-)

And that will make you lose your doctorate. Although there is a fenomenom
called "Gulfstream", it is a common misconception that this is a single mass of
water. There are several currents rising and falling, moving left, moving
right, one above/next to the other. Easiest to be compared to a dish of
spaghetti ... a kind of chaos but, unlike a dish of spaghetti, in an orderly
way.
 
The cooling-down of the warm streams will upset the environment less than the
change in patterns.
 
BTW, what happened to our "Global Warming denier" here? Haven't heard from him
for months. He didn't pull a Witt on us, did he?

Many human activities have already had their carbon footprint defined. For
example a dog has a carbon footprint about the same as an old VW-bug. Science
has even defined the carbon footprint of a goldfish in a bowl ... goldfish
continuously release liquid farts and contribute to global warming.
 
In popular literature it is not mentioned what the reduction of the vast
amounts of useless animal pets owned by humans would have on the climate. "That
lill' dog is not causing any harm..."
 
Having been an observer to the meetings of the Oslo Treaty as well as the
Northsea Minister Conferences was an eye opener.
