I had to look it up in Google Maps - there seems to be a fir sized town a

Satellite access is faitlr immube form such

Infrastructure cost is a dish on the house. The satellite is already up there

We don't have "telco areas" here, all are everywhere - well, some cell
companies don't deliver to the regional areas as over 90% of the population
live in the cities.

The one telco that goes everywhere was government owned once but then they
privatised it. Service isn't so good any more but they still deliver "out
bush". The other telcos rent space/time from this one's copper to the houses. I
think they put their own DSLAMs in the exchanges though.

They're rolling out nationwide fibre here now at immense cost....

We're told that soon we will have to surrender our copper and take up fibre
connections.

 ml> greedy corporate bastards...

The telco I spoke of above owns much of the infrastructure around Australia and
therefore has ultimate control of what we get.
