Considering that he had been nuetered and declawed at an early age, he did
well to make it to 18 years. Wherever cat heaven is, I'm sure he's as
robust as he was with us.

That won't matter to him, your yard is his territory and he'll want to
protect that, even if he loses his site in one eye.

Since we live in an area that is quite in-accessable to wildlife wondering
about, that Fox may have found his way in, but can't figure out how to
escape it. Either that Fox had to swim the Guadelupe River or cross the
freeway to get here and that's not an easy task. The freeway has it's
'walls' to climb and 8 lanes of traffic to cross, leaving his egress to
the area along the river. The Army Corp of Engineers keeps the river flow
quite fast, so even a human has a hard time swimming across it. I suppose
he could have wondered down the river, since there is some wilderness
south of here on the eastern side of the banks.

Seen that happen before. I think I related the story about the pidgeon
keeper that killed our cat, Smokey, and I paid him back with a few dead
pigeons shot with my shotgun. My only remorse was that I couldn't retrieve
them for dinner.

That's a good idea and I should probably have that done with our dog.
