Yeah I know, and, there are other parts of anarctica which
are warming as well, but you don't hear about conditions
there.

But, consider in all that one of the reasons anarctica might be retaining its
ice cap, the pollutants are much less.  I
might be wrong, but other than Australia and NZ quite a bit
of the south pacific is just ocean, small populations.
Small populations = less pollutants, ice cap stays its nice
light color, reflects that sunlight back into space instead
of absorbs it, as is happening with Greenland and the polar
ice cap up north.  I've seen that hypothesis stated by
others as well come to think of it.

Yeah that's just it.  They do a lot of talking, but what
they don't quite get is that a lot of people aren't
accustomed to thinking in terms of scientific method, and
that data collected through observations is likely to change over long term. 
Consider the number of folks out there who
automatically go to the doc for every little sniffle
demanding one of those new whiz bang wonderful antibiotics,
not realizing that the more of those things they take in the less effective
they are because the little bugs build up a
resistance to them, i.e. the disease arms race, brought to
you by big pharma.  MOst folks don't even understand the
basic principles of antibiotics.  Getting them to swallow
all the talking points on climate science ... <yeah right.
