Agreed on that, but then again any fishing boat captain probably never knew
Morse in the first place.  Voice Only in those cases.

I admire your dedication to that.  I barely turn on my rigs any longer.  The
local Ham club disintegrated this year due to internal strife.  New members
thought they could run the club better, and knew better then those of us who
had been part of it since it started

After writing the exam twice, I gave up on the code.  Managed to get to about
10 WPM but 12 were required.  Finally got my license when they dropped the code
requirement for basic, and now got grandfathered in to full privileges.  While
it would be nice in some respects to learn the code, I am no longer interested
in it.
