Ärende: Maximus on Solaris 10
=============================
Hello Ryan.

06 Apr 07 16:48, you wrote to me:

Hmm ... , being as this was some time ago, I don't remember exactly how ... ,
but the MBSE BBS doc's in html format had a tutorial section in the FAQ that
explained how this was all setup. Basically you setup a script that started
dosemu, and then loaded the door, had L.O.R.D BRE, and Tradewars running here
that way ...

RL> DOSEMU. I'm hoping based on your description of how DOSEMU interfaces
RL> with a linux bbs, the maximus developers will see that it is
RL> (hopefully) simple to enhance max to support it. IMO, the bbs package
RL> won't be complete until then.

Well, I also ran Maximus, first on MS-DOS 6.22 then WIN98SE then later on
OS/2, but due to networking problems (OS/2) and WIN98SE not being stable, ...
, I moved to Linux, and after much testing, I started of with MBSE BBS which I
have been using the last 9-10 years, if memory serves me well. I will be the
first to admit that MBSE BBS is not Maximus, but if you have, time and the
scripting ability, you should be able to make it pretty close ... , whether
that will be worth it, I have no idea. Maximus is being developed, but Bob
Jones cannot currently work on it due to his current employment contract as I
understand, which is a pity ...

RL> That's right hardware support isn't that great yet because it has only
RL> been a few years since x86 support was introduced. If you're still
RL> waiting for your CD, I think the demand for the free cds was so big
RL> that they ran out and had to order more.

That may be, but they said 2-3 week for delivery ... , so I am hopefully
waiting ... :-)

Russell
