Resellsers or ISPs both use the phoneco's dslam and the only real difference is
a reseller uses the phoneco's network and backbone connection as well while an
ISP will transport the traffic to their network before it goes out to the
internet via the ISP's backbone connections.

The hardware side of things is the same no matter who you use if it comes in on
your phone line then the hardware is dictated by the phoneco since it's theirs.
