You must not have read gary's messages. He wasn't describing using =
someone else's CD to or computer to restore a file because he doesn't = have
his CD available. What gary described was his wanting a feature of = Windows
XP Professional and not of Windows XP Home, being too cheap to = buy Windows XP
Professional, and instead copying the components to = implement this feature on
to his machine.

On your other subject, it's easy to get kindness and favors. I'll =
leave it to you to contimplate how.

Earth calling Rich... Microsoft (and, in this case, you) aren't being
insulted and maligned unfairly. On the contrary, you have earned it.
If you want to be treated with respect, all you have to do is earn it =
by
  treating others with respect.

My experience matches Geo's, in that most of the Microsoft employees I =
have
contact with are helpful and polite in the face of abuse aimed at the
company in general and are widely respected as such (especially Nathan
Mercer and Brett Roberts of Microsoft NZ, take a bow).

With regard to your bleating about Gary's license use violations, it's =
an
everyday occurrence. People routinely use "other" copies of windows to =
fix
problems, for example using an OEM or full license CD to replace =
damaged
files on an OEM preinstall. Technically, it's against the EULA. But =
until
Microsoft starts actively and systematically tracking down such cases =
and
prosecuting the perpetrators, you can either suck it up or accept that =
we
aren't going to accept you whining about it.
