  You may not want "pirating TV shows" as an example, but it is a very
  compelling one for non-geeks. They see the results at their geek =
friend's
  house and want to get them too. Pretty soon there are products to make =

  easy and intuitive. This is driving the current adoption of home media
  systems in the same way as porn drove the adoption of the VCR.

  Around these parts, we're at the stage where the geeks find and =

  shows then burn them to DVD for their own use and for swapping with =
friends.
  There's a demand here because the local TV channels don't buy the =

  because they don't think they'll rate. Sales of legally released TV =
shows on
  DVD sets are also brisk, proving that people would be prepared to pay =

  Gee, spend money trying to stem the demand or make money satisfying =
it...
  you'd think the media companies would show more common sense.
