 Couple things wrong with that. Soufan had been interrogating
 Zubaydah for a month, and getting a constant stream of useful
 intel. He said Zubaydah shut down after the torture.

 And Kiriakou was not there when Zubaydah was tortured. He was in
 Washington, thousands of miles away. And Zubaydah was
 waterboarded over 80 times according to CIA reports. So, if he
 never had to be waterboarded again then it was just for sadistic
 fun.

 IOW, Kiriakou got it all wrong. Oh, and Soufan's statement was
 in sworn testimony before the US Senate. Kiriakou's was in a TV
 interview.

 Since Soufan was getting the intel without torture, you just
 shot down your whole arguement.

 Most "Enhanced Interrogaton" techniques don't work too well for
 time critical situations. Sleep deprivation takes 24 hours at
 least. They did 180 hours of sleep deprivation in some cases. If
 you are looking for the ticking bomb, 180 hours of sleep
 deprivation won't do a bit of good unless the timer has 181
 hours on it.

 They waterboarded Abu Zubaydah 83 times, and one other fellow
 183 times. If they tried that in an hour or two they would
 probably be dead, and dead men tell no intel.

 Just the opposite. Now that they know those captured will sing
 with little encouragement terrorists will not trust each other.

 And knowing Americans are not sadistic bastards who torture will
 give fewer reason to sign up to fight us.
