Nothing tongue in cheek about it.  YOu must remember, the
PEronists in ARgentina were all about "land reform" at
first.

We can already see some of the results, look at some eu
regulations.  NO lead in solder, means your electronic
devices if made for the EUropean market are less reliable
over the long term.

the best way to control a population is to make them think
you're protecting them, looking out for them.

Average folks want protection, not personal responsibility.
Average workers saw their rights of collective bargaining
erode, have seen their freedoms decrease.  THey're told that they should
welcome the intrusiveness of the snoops, whether it be the marketing men
profiling them or the government.
As the economic situation worsens they'll cry out for even
more protection.

eIther this guy will settle down to doing the job of the
attorney general or the congress critters will force him
out.  Just as ludicrous and ridiculous as Ashcroft's desire
to clothe the statue of lady justice a few years back <g>.
IF you recall GWB had to make more than one stab at getting
an a.g.
