  That's the thing...we heard so many cases of folks who rushed into
things, and it obviously did not work. In fact, I heard of one case
where they apparently decided at the reception...15 minutes after they
said "I do"...that "I don't anymore". Why did they go through it in the
first place?

  I was engaged once before over 20 years ago, but I felt pressured in
that situation. That girl always wanted to go to the most expensive
places to eat and otherwise...and never once offered to pick up the tab.
Janice didn't care if it was McDonald's or the fanciest restaurant in
town...food was food.

GP>She was an integral part of you and your life for some YEARS!!!

  We knew each other as friends for 17 1/2 years, and never thought
about marriage...let alone to each other. I thought she was trying to
accelerate the relationship about 8 years before (1994), and I almost
drove her away. I apologized to her about it later, and she said...in
retrospect...that "God wanted us both to grow up a bit".

  Definitely. I could remarry "the right woman", and not be committing
adultery.

  My brother has been divorced twice...his 2 previous wives took him to
the cleaners, as it were. The last one ran up a huge credit card
debt...but what saved him was that she only had herself on the
card...not him...and the judge ruled he was not liable for those debts.
His current fiancee' is both a divorcee' and a widow...and her kids are
grown...so, she knows the drill. They seem very happy with each other. I
don't know when they'll get married, but I'm not going to push him. He
is a maintenence guy at a health care facility (I think)...the same
place where she works...and he's on call much of the time. So, I don't
bother him, as I never know when he's sleeping.

  My Mom warned me it'd be around 2 months after her death, and she was
right...that's when I had the nightmare about it...8 weeks to the day.

  I appreciate it. I normally would not be up at this hour, but I've had
great difficulty sleeping at nights, with a combination of acid reflux,
leg cramps, irritable bowel syndrome attacks, nightmares, and coughing.
This sleeping for 30 to 60 minutes, then awake for 2 hours is taking its
toll. No wonder I don't feel like doing stuff during the day.
