You've got to be kidding me!  These are brand new drives and have maybe a
total of five hours of run time (I formatted them, copied twenty folders to
the formatted drive to get an idea of the transfer rate [damn fast],
deleted the folders, rebooted, went into the Intel RAID configuration to
remove the RAID 0+1 on that volume, saved everything, turned the computer
off and removed the cage containing the four drives until I was able to
obtain a controller card).

I will do as you have suggested and I think I will have to use a minimum of
two drives...  Opinion?

I'm scratching my head over this suggestion.  Are you meaning that I should
disconnect the data cables to the working drives (that seems doable to me
and I don't think it would affect the OS, data and files currently on the
drives)?

Or, are you meaning that I should access the Intel RAID configuration
utility to disable the drives (I'm 99.9% sure that is going to trash
everything because that is what I did in order to install all the new /
updated Intel drivers)?

At 15:30 today, I sent email to ST Labs and attempted to describe my
problems.  I also asked if there were any known issues of compatibility
with the controller card and the Intel DG965WH motherboard.  It is now a
"Hurry up and wait" for an email response.
