 Ok, I have heard of the place. I just googled it. It's just
 before the I75 exit to Standish. I used to go to Ossineke, just
 south of Alpena, every year to visit friends there. I would see
 the sign for the exit. Got off at Standish and drove up US 23.

 So, I know the area. I liked it there. OTOH, the only place I
 liked when I was in the military was Maine, and I had spent time
 if Florida and Hawaii. Two years in hawaii.

 Dang... talk about primitive. The slow uploads is what gets me.
 Does it upload faster outside that area?

 Now that is a challenge.

 I suspect the RG-8 would be more doable. If nothing else works I
 doubt the Wi-Fi router would. Though if it does let us know.
 OTOH, I do see extenders for USB up to 150 feet. And Cat 5 or
 cat 6 runs fairly far. However, at 800 feet I suspect you might
 have to go fiber optics, and I have no idea what that would
 cost. A tall tower might be cheaper.

 Do you have landline phone service? That part wasn't clear.
