That's about what I noticed.

And while I've not been off at sea, I've had the equivalent in details
of responsibilities that keep me from having the time at home... not
QUITE as bad as yours, but, it did* seem as though whenever I got back
from one of those stints, it was to read your "off at sea" message about
a week away from the catch-up point... <G>

I can understand dropping out of MEMORIES, especially when it gets busy.
:)  Dan talked me into checking out DADS, and I see you in there now and
then...  but I'm not in COOKING, and any admin-type echos I might read I
wouldn't post in... plus it being off-topic... <G>  Having been totally
ignored the couple of times I posted in FIDONEWS, I wouldn't post in
there for anything now... even if I wasn't* being totally turned off by
some of the shenanagins in there.  I still read it, and sometimes I
wonder why I do that as well... ;/

It's been a hectic year... :)  And, having just finished a year of
separation pay after a layoff from Kodak (after 29 and 1/2 years), hubby
is having an additional urgency to looking for a replacement job.  He's
been looking, and applying, all year, and has yet to even have a nibble
of interest.  He's a software engineer, with skills and training in
electrical and hardware, and particularly has been working in embedded
firmware (for example, the software that runs photofinishing equipment).
Should be marketable, but apparently experience (and implied age) works
against him?  We aren't desperate yet... we've got savings to work from
for the time being, have been here before in worse straits (admittedly,
many years ago, at the beginning of our marriage), and have always
tended to be fairly frugal.  And, we DO believe that God will continue
to provide for us, in one way or another, as He has done in the past,
and as He has done for others through us over the years....  :)

Other than that, things are pretty good for us....  :)  Just always busy
with one thing and another, from aging parents (mine) to other family
responsibilities on both sides, to having my niece live with us starting
this past fall while she continues her college studies in the area, to
my ever-increasing duties as healthcare proxy and POA for a disabled
friend of mine who has no family around to do for her, to various duties
in different organizations we are a part of...  :)  Always something...
and sometimes not predictable as to particular intensity at any one
time...  <G>  We manage, though...  :)

Is your family surviving your increased absence ok?
