    With the brouhaha within Amateur Astronomers Association shifted 
to the AAA_Politics Yahoo forum, NYSkies no longer promotes that 
business here. Of course, any news about the club posted into NYSkies 
can be 'political'. If that's your take, get over to AAA_Politics and 
bellow! It's just as free for all and free-for-all as NYSkies 
encourage until AAA_Politics was created on 2004 June 29. 
    What? AAA_Politics is not yet fully populated with your required 
audience? Well, you go and drum up subscribers! If you're going whacko 
about a this or that club issue, you should have the audience you 
demand! 
    After the Gestapo raid at the Recent Astronomy Seminar by club 
president Michael O'Gara on January 13th, AAA Board members at the 
Seminar saw fist hand Mike's dictatorship rule over the club, to the 
extent of overstepping the silly action of expulsion by his own Board. 
Frank Schmidt quit both his Board seat and his chair of the Seminar. 
    Several other Board members, on learning of O'Gara's unbecoming 
and disruptive conduct, are toying with leaving the Board, their 
chairs, or the club. As yet, there is no confirmation from those. 
NYSkies will keep you informed as news comes in. 
    The other is the hearing on January 27th in small claims court for 
John Pazmino's loss of astro gear in the Great Eclipse Theft of 8 
November 2003. After club and Pazmino presented their cases, judge 
Matthew Cooper sent his ruling to both parties on/about February 1st. 
    The simple outcome is that the court ruled in favor of the club, 
noting that the club has no authority or duty to look after personal 
property in space shared with other tenants. AAA headquarters in Park 
Avenue Christian Church is openly accessible by other tenant groups, 
including Church crew. President Mike O'Gara elaborated on this ruling 
in the March 2005 issue of AAA's newsletter. From the court ruling, it 
is now impractical for the other victims to press their own cases. 
They must now eat their losses as an involuntary price paid in the 
service of the O'Gara regime. 
    The ruling is not a oneshot action. AAA now has the burden -- and 
duty! -- to continually emphasize to its telescope crews the lack of 
responsibility for personal property at its offices and, more over, at 
other AAA events. The club operates in spaces, like parks, which are 
openly availed of by other groups and the public. AAA could do this by 
disclaimer handouts or a explicit notice with each call for crews. 
    A collateral, but perhaps not contingent, resignation came form 
Bruce Kamiat. He was speaking of leaving the OG chair in spring 2005 
for outside reasons. He left suddenly in late January! Richard 
Rosenberg took up the chair with no stomach to engage in any of
