Not solely a TV term though, but generally an artistic term. From the
Dictionary.com link posted earlier, three of the definitions fit,
though none refer specifically to TV or even to dramatisation in
general:

3. a work of art, literature, music, etc., having a prescribed
thematic and formal structure: the set pieces of Restoration comedy.

The thematic structure of the TLT set-piece is a harking back to the
end of the story of B5, before winding back to show that there is more
of the story (Lost Tales) to be told.

4. a scene, action, or the like, having a conventional form and
functioning as part of the structure of a work of art, literature,
etc.

It is structured to act as an introduction to the concept of the
series.

6. (in a novel, narrative poem, or the like) a passage more or less
extraneous to the sequence of events, introduced to supply background,
color, or the like.

It certainly does (will do, presumably, since I've not seen it yet)
that.
