this, as a treatment for cancer, is far from new, though for some reason 
the media has recently latched onto the story, mostly due to the "free 
energy" aspects of it(which seems to be far less plausible...)

the University of Pittsburgh Medical center started animal trials on the 
technique over 2 years ago. and the University of Texas MD Anderson 
Cancer Center in Houston began testing in conjunction with carbon 
nanotubes and test tubes containing cancer cells shortly thereafter. 
when mr Kanzius went to Houston, part of the research team that he met 
with was a nobel prize winning chemist* who was one of the lead 
researchers in the discovery of Buckyballs(which is what the nobel prize 
was for).  if he and many others at these research facilities, who have 
actually studied/worked with the machinery, didn't think the guy is a 
crackpot, then i'm not sure how anyone here can think that way, when we 
have only read articles/viewed youtube videos, regardless of education 
in physics, chemistry or medicine. 

and sometimes, an average guy can think outside of the box in ways that 
years of medical or other professional training might veer one away 
from, to come up with an answer to a problem that simply escaped 
everyone who should know better. the forest and the tree situation, or 
perhaps, the ivanova and the great machine providing power situation.
