I just went back and looked at some scenes from the DVD again for the
first time (my DVD drive having miraculously come back to life after a
huge piece of white foam popped out) and the props and mattes are a
good deal more elaborate than I remembered them. Which reopens the
question of why, other than relative paucity of actors, I had the
feeling I was watching summer stock and that we weren't really seeing
the station, despite the exteriors. Those side-by-side photos of yours
put it in perspective. They're less elaborate and dramatic, sure, but
mostly they just don't /look/ like the corridors we remember, if only
subconsciously. The only thing that binds the new and old B5 are the
shots of the exterior.

Oh, I think maybe around episode 310 . . .
