It does make sense from a viewers perspective. From a network's
perspective I'm not so sure. They lose the big advertising revenue
they get from airing the shows over the air. They also risk a show
that they believe in getting bad word of mouth and having people tune
out before the show even starts. On the other hand they do gain a shot
at good word of mouth if the viewers like the shows, and they can gain
some advertising revenue from the online eps.

I think it's a great idea and I wish all of the pilots got out into
the wild.  There was one pilot from a year or so ago that starred
Michelle Forbes, "Global Frequency." It got great reviews from most of
the people that saw it. That's a show that might have done well if the
network had officially put that show out for public viewing.
