Actually the reason you don't understand it is that you haven't done
your homework so you don't really KNOW anything.  Yet you keep posting
as if you do.

There was no "mind rape" issue with "Crusade"  TNT basically wanted
Gideon to permit the *physical rape* of a member of the crew in order
to gain leverage over an EarthForce official.  And that my not have
been the most egregious example of their "ideas" for the show.

The TNT notes were bad, they got worse, and the whole thing was a
deliberate effort to *force* JMS into a position where he would quit
the show or pull the plug on it - which is what eventually happened.
TNT had decided either just before production on "Crusade" started or
shortly thereafter that the show was wrong for the network and that the
deal had been a mistake.  But if *they* halted production, they'd still
owe Warner Bros. based on the contract they signed.  So they just made
the situation so impossible that JMS (with the backing of Warner Bros.)
finally called it quits.

All of this has been quite extensively documented on the intert.  Much
of the information was at least hinted at long before JMS was in a
position to speak on the matter publicly, but afterwards he confirmed
that some of the fan-researched material (including some that I had dug
up and posted at the time of the "TNT memo" leak) was accurate, in
broad outline if not in every detail regarding how bad the notes were
and how bizarred TNT's actions seemed to be.  It only came out much
later that TNT's analysis of "B5" S5's ratings had convinced the powers
that be in Atlanta that they needed to pull the plug on "Crusade" as
quickly as possible.  (They had discovered that "B5" was adding
virtually no new viewers to their audience.  While the series and the
TV movies did well in the ratings, the pattern was that regular TNT
viewers would switch to another channel while the SF show was on, while
"B5" fans would tune to TNT *only* for "B5", then change channels as
soon as the NBA or wrestling or some western started up.  The "B5"
ratings were a wash.  TNT didn't want that with a series that they were
involved with from the start.)

So you're totally off-base with your read on "Crusade", which might
also explain your posts in the Mongoose thread, which also seem to be
about some *other* guy named Joe Straczynski.
