it used to be said that the softwre coders were at least two generations behind
the chips in their taking advantage of the new chip instruction execution
features... that was back in the 286 and 386 days... i know that i've seen some
code take some pretty exotic looking turns to achieve max potantial with
today's chips... by exotic i mean coding for pipelining priorities and such so
as to gain the greatest processing capabilities in the shortest amount of time
and/or clock cycles... i've even seen a large bit of stuff recoded to take
advantage of cpu instruction caching capabilities... nothing has approached ASM
coding for these benefits but several have come fairly close... the main
problem being that many simply don't want to get as close to the hardware as
they could to really develop highly efficient code...

i hate using objects written by others as manys the time that i find numerous
procedures and functions being called that simply don't need to be but are due
to heiritage processes in the object oriented world...
