I have no idea whether my parents got frustrated or not. Most of the schools 
I went to stateside were civilian, and the school's in Europe were way ahead 
of the stateside schools. My goals were to stay out of enough trouble so that 
my parents never had to come to school...I almost succeeded most of the 
time (grin). I was far from an ideal child.

Yep, google "International Baccalaureate" and you'll learn about the program.
Sadly though I'm sure you've heard of the school Amanda Graduated from...it 
made national news a few weeks back when one student came in and point 
blank shot a classmate and killed him just before class started. Henry Foss 
High School in Tacoma WA. He was not in the IB program, but still in the 
school none the less. 
In their senior year in May sometime the IB students take a comprehensive 
test in each of their subjects ( usually a 4 hour test) that covers all four 
years of learning. They take off a week from school and take the tests for 
each subject during that week...and boy is it a tough week!
