Ärende: Zum's Grand Buffet

  Yesterday I came across a message in the usenet newsgroup DC.DINING
  that was touting a restaurant in Waldorf Maryland.   From the
  description, it sounded like something you might like to try sometime
  when you are down this way.

  Name is Zum's grand buffet at 2056 Crain Highway, Waldorf MD 20601,
  301-638-7328.  I could not find a web site for them, but they were
  listed on my MS Streets and Trips mapping program.   They are about 31
  miles south of Carol's -- claim is 36 minute drive.

  Some snippets from the guy's message that made me think of you:

I easily got my money's worth eating 3 dozen raw oysters.  They were 
medium and small size American oysters, the kind that I like.  Better 
than ones usually found at other AYCE places.  The soft ice creme is 
also to my liking.

The 3 jumbo shrimps I had were a bit over cooked as well as the 
steamed flounder, and dungeness crabs.  The steam blue crabs were 
pretty big and cooked the way I like.  Their house specialty might be 
the deep fried hard shell blue crab.  They were very popular.

$11.92 plus tip.  If I had to buy at the grocery store the stuff I ate 
there it would cost 2 or 3 times more.

  I don't recall seeing raw oysters at an AYCE before -- and the price
  is quite reasonable.  I also have never seen dungeness crabs on this
  side of the US -- and would be skeptical of them for that reason.

  They are more than an hour from us, so I'm not sure that we'd be
  likely to go there -- but thought you might like to put it onto your
  list of places to try.
