   They certainly do tone down the heat in dishes that ought to be hot
   and spicy.  That is all too common.   Many places you find that many
   of the dishes have the same "Chinese brown sauce" as a base.   Don't
   believe that is true of the Panda.

   When you come here, you will go to the shore for seafood.  A place
   that Carol introduced us to and favors.  Even though it is quite a
   drive away.


MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Petticoat Lane Chicken Garlic Stew - JJC
 Categories: Stew, Soup, Poultry, Jewish, England
      Yield: 6 Servings
 
      3 tb Olive oil
     10 cl Garlic; peeled (yep, 10)
    1/2 c  Parsley; chopped
    1/2 c  Celery leaves; chopped
      1 ts Dried tarragon
      1 tb Salt
      1 ts Ground white pepper
    1/2 ts Allspice
    1/4 ts Ground cinnamon
  1 1/2 c  Dry white wine
      6 ea Chicken leg and thigh pieces
           -;cut in two
 
    Don't let the garlic scare you- it' s discarded after baking. _Very
  _ tasty.
  
    Preheat oven to 375 F degrees. Pour olive oil in a pot with cover.
  Add garlic and all ingredients including chicken. Cover tightly,
  place in oven for about 1-1/4 hours. The chicken does *not* brown.
  Discard garlic. Serve with bread. Makes 6 servings.
