When I was staying in Naples, I found most of the breakfast pastries
in cafes were richly annointed with Nutella.  Now you have me
wondering if, in fact, it was Nutella...

Pig's or chicken's blood features in many Filipino dishes, but the
thought of eating them doesn't sicken me.

Definitely forgivable!  The question is, why did the dog react that
way, but not you?  (Or did you?)  Is your digestive system stronger
than the dog's?

      Title: PHILIPPINE CHICKEN DINNER FOR TWO
 Categories: Mains, Chicken, Filipino, Asia-se
      Yield: 2 servings
 
      1    Chicken; boned & split
      3 tb Vinegar- palm; OR
      3 tb ; cider vinegar
      3 tb Soy sauce- light
      2    Garlic cloves; minced
    1/8 ts Sp- pepper, ground
      1 c  Beansprouts; mung
      2 c  Rice- cooked
 
  In the Philippines, vinegar [suka] comes in white, red, & black
  colours. It can be made from pineapple, nipa palm, kaong or sago
  palm, coconut, or sugar cane.
  
  Arrange the chicken in a large frypan. Combine the vinegar, soy,
  garlic & pepper; pour over the chicken. Cover tightly; simmer over
  low heat, turning the chicken several times, for 40 minutes, or till
  the chicken is tender.
  
  Remove the chicken to a heated platter. Warm the beansprouts in the
  sauce & serve over hot fluffy rice.
