ML> Might have told you that when we went to Akbar (non-buffet)
ML> Carol had a really pretty rotten meal, while mine, though
ML> unimpressive, was edible. Everything was bland and creamy.

I do seem to recall that now that you mention it. Sorry it was not
to your liking. They have a dish called chicken meti that Gail
likes --- prepared with fenegreek leaves. I often have either the
tandori or chicken tikka masala. None of those dishes are going to
be the fiery hot dishes that you might prefer.

ML> We won't be back, but tell us about the House of India?

It is in another small strip mall off of Snowden River Pkwy -- about
100 yards closer to Mango grove and on the same side of the street as
is Akbar. We like it also -- but glancing through their online menu
at http://www.houseofindiainc.com/index.html I'd say that the menu is
much like Akbar, and that you are not going to get duck vindaloo
   their either.

DS> them, but it is rare that we go out for lunch.

ML> It's rare that you're even up for lunch, from what I hear.

Quite true that we seldom have "lunch". Often our schedule is such
that we have a bowl of cereal sometime between 1 and 3 pm, and then
nothing else much until dinner about 7 pm.

ML> (Note to the echo: sometimes Carol and I wake up and think,
ML> how about let's go to the Mango Grove for lunch, and we call
ML> the Shipps, but we are pretty careful not to call before 10:30
ML> or so, lest we wake them, but usually we do wake them anyhow,
ML> but usually they come out to the Mango Grove anyway.)

  Ah, the sacrifices we make for friendship:-}}

ML> Thanks for the info. I rather enjoyed Sapphire. Maybe we should meet

Could that be because they had a pickle relish on the buffet that was
just right heat level for you (and burned the rest of us out), and
several dishes with at least a show of heat? Certainly nothing
bland and creamy about their dishes.

ML> again there. Non-buffet is fine too. It's not as though they starve
ML> you or the prices are extortionate or anything.

We'd enjoy meeting you there. I would not mind joining you two to
Zapata's Mexican in our neighborhood if they have some dishes
different from your Pachanga. (I note that they have dropped off the
USAirways dining club miles list though). Take a look at their menu
and let me know what you think.

DS> back there some Fri / Sat soon. (Gail found their web page which
DS> says dinner buffet Mon through Sunday -- but guess that is out of
 DS> date).

ML> Most Web pages are out of date; it appears that businesses
ML> may be cajoled into putting out the dough for an initial
ML> site, but to pay to have the information updated, no way.

  Sad but true.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05

      Title: Rabbit Stew
Categories: Game, Rabbit, Main dish, Stew
      Yield: 1 servings

      3 Rabbits cut into pieces
      1 c Flour
    1/4 c Olive oil
    1/2 c Onions, chopped
      2 Garlic clove, minced
    1/4 c Wine, sherry, dry
      1 c Chicken broth
      1 c Game marinade, strained
      1 ts Thyme
      1 ts Sage
      1 ts Cayenne pepper
    1/4 c Parsley, minced
           Salt & pepper to taste

Dust pieces in flour and shake off excess. Brown in olive oil on all
sides in a large black iron pot (My prejudice). Remove and keep warm.
Add onions and garlic to same oil; cook until clear, not brown. Drain
off excess oil and replace rabbit. Pour on sherry. Add broth and
strained marinade. Bring to boil then reduce heat to simmer, covered,
  for 1 to 1-1/2 hours.
