That's overuse, I'd say.

Yes. Well. That sort of things is in the news even today.

It's very difficult to stomach the fact that the donors of
your genetic material (and in some cases sharers of it) were
indirectly responsible for monstrous acts.

The supply of pilots is currently unbelievably high. On the
feeder carriers, the RJ and De Havilland cockpit crew are
paid, well, about what I make (one pilot did the figures,
counting commuting time, meals on the road, and so on and
described them to flyertalk as "paying them to fly"), whereas
a 747 driver on a big airline gets over ten times as much.

Achiote (annatto) has a distinct though mild flavor.

Stamp and go - Jamaican codfish cakes
cat: fish, starter
yield: 24

1/2 lb salt cod
water
2 Tb annatto oil, see below (substitute olive oil)
1 c onion, minced
1 c flour
1 ts double-acting baking powder
1/2 ts salt
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c milk
1 Tb butter, melted
1 Tb fresh hot peppers, minced
oil for frying

Soak cod in cold water for 12 hr, changing water every 3 hr.
Rinse cod, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Reduce
heat and simmer 20 min or until fish flakes. Flake fish,
removing any skin or bones.

Heat annatto oil and fry onion until translucent. Remove from heat.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Add egg, milk, and
butter. Mix lightly and add onion and fish. Mix well and drop by
tablespoons into hot oil. They will flatten out as you add them.
Do not overfill pan, or they will stick together.

Fry (deep-fry or shallow-fry in at least 1/2" oil), turning once or
twice, for 3-4 min or until golden. Serve with a wedge of lime.

Annatto oil

1/2 c vegetable oil
1/4 c annatto seeds (ugly red things available from Goya)

Fry seeds over medium-high heat for a minute or so. Strain out
seeds and keep the oil. I don't see any reason to strain the
seeds out, but that's what the recipe says.
