Ärende: New Years gift!

Hi Ruth,

 RH> Even my church has mice. And no, that's not a joke.

Our church in Copperas Cove (outside of Fort Hood) had a church mouse
choir when the kids did a Kid's Praise musical. (G) Rachel was one of
the; Deborah was a year or so too young for it.

->  RH> It makes up for his occasional eccentricities.

-> Kinda-sorta.  He did approve of the strawberry rhubarb jam I made today.
-> Got 6 half pint jars worth plus taste test samples.

 RH> Official taste tester?

That he is!  He'll taste the strawberry rhubarb pie I made earlier after
chili for supper tonight.  I'm sure he will give both his official seal
of approval. (G)

-> start aggressive treatment. Unfortunately, I don't get an aura so I
-> can't tell if it'll be a "normal" headache or a migraine until it gets

 RH> I normally don't get anything but sinus headaches.  I had a migraine

Lucky.  Mine started then and have kept up since.  I had a short break
when the girls were young but I can remember Steve coming home from work
one night to find me on the couch suffering, but having to keep an eye
on them.  He got something from our local pharmacist (who knew both of
us well enough to give him something for me, non perscription but
strong) to knock that one out and keep on hand until my next doctor's
appointment.

-> Anything other than milk or white "chocolate" and any time of the month.
-> If it's milk or white, I'd probably go for the olives but if I'd not had
-> any chocolate in a while, then even the milk might get precidence over
-> the olives.

 RH> For me it's the black stuff.  The darker the better.

I don't eat the baking chocolate but most anything under it is fair
game.

-> Same here.  Remember, we didn't have temps much below th low 60s (night
-> time) in HI so this winter has been a shock to our bodies.  The house is
-> well insulated tho--better than most any other military housing we've
-> lived in.

 RH> Does it at least have a working furnace?

Yes, and there's a vent that blows on me in bed.  Steve is on the other
side, wrapped up in blankets and I'm throwing off everything but the
sheet. It switches automatically to AC; been doing that quite a lot
these last few weeks.

No consolation but my sympathy.  I'm doing better, the foot is almost
back to the same size as the other.

And I've no problem for the most part. But I did do buttonholes in a
couple of the shirts I made last night.  I sew for the fun of it now;
adds a bit of variety to my wardrobe.

 RH> I'll probably be one of the group that cooks dinner.

And enjoys the concert afterward.  The other night at supper, one of the
guys sat down and immediately spilled his water glass all over his feet,
the table, several other people's feet, etc.  He was getting razzed
about it as he was wiping it up; I just said something on the order of
"didn't know we practiced foot washing here" and cracked everybody up.
Pastor's wife was sitting nearby and got a good laugh.
