Well, the joint had other attractions. Like those serving staff coming 
around every 30 seconds or so with gobbets of cooked meat skewered on 
swords and things like that.

The wine was pretty badly corked - although I manfully finished my glass 
... mostly. It tasted like a musty basement smells. Took at least three 
chunks of sirloin to get that taste out my mouth.

At that it was nowhere nearly as bad a the bottle we opened at the first 
Seattle picnic. That stuff was as brown as iodine and was poured on some 
otherwise inoffensive plant life. Wooo Hooo. I don't think one could 
have even made vinegar from it.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Tex-Mex Burgers
 Categories: Beef, Sandwiches, Cheese
      Yield: 6 servings
 
      1    Ripe Haas avocado
    1/4 c  Sour cream
      1 tb Lemon juice
    1/8 ts Tabasco

MMMMM--------------------------BURGERS-------------------------------
  1 1/2 lb Lean ground beef
    1/4 c  Dry bread crumbs
      2 tb Water
      1 tb Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/4 ts Ground black pepper
    1/4 ts Ground cumin

MMMMM--------------------------GARNISH-------------------------------
    1/4 c  Fine chopped white onion
    1/4 c  Fine chopped tomato (no
           -seeds or pulp)
    1/4 c  Fine chopped green chilies
      1 tb Fine chopped fresh cilantro
           -leaves
 
  Mash the avocado and mix with the sour cream, lemon juice
  and Tabasco until smooth. Cover and set aside.
  
  Combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, water, Worcestershire
  sauce, salt, pepper and cumin, mixing well. Shape mixture
  into 12 patties about 4 inches in diameter.
  
  Combine the chopped onion, tomato, green chiles and cilantro.
  Divide the mixture among 6 of the beef patties, spreading to
  within 1/2 inch of the edge. Top with a remaining patty,
  sealing edges firmly.
  
  Grill patties about 4 inches from coals or heating element,
  turning once, 5 to 7 minutes on each side for medium. Serve
  burgers with avocado sauce.
  
  Makes 6 burgers.
