I think she knows I'm a sodden rummy when I visit the NorthWet,
but she also knows I'm a happy one for the duration.

The schools have been known to pay good money for films
of such behavior.

I presume you people worked quickly to minimize the exposure
of the tykes to the unscheduled educational experience.

I've seen some towns in Europe that look as they had been
whapped with the mediaeval stick - not much change in appearance
or lifestyle, aside from the satellite dishes here and there.

Sounds like the pull vs. slice debate all over again. I'm so
unsure about which side of the issue I'm on that I have to
periodically do extensive research to refresh my memory.

Noodles with shrimp and cream
cat: shellfish, main, pasta
servings: 6

500 g fresh tagliatelle
2 courgettes
350 g shelled pink shrimp
80 g slivered almonds
1 bn chives
2 sprigs fresh thyme
20 cl cream
3 Tb olive oil
s, p

Wash the courgettes; top and tail and cut into
thin batons. Steam 15 min.

[Cook shrimp somehow; recipe ignores them.]

Meanwhile, heat the cream gently in a large
casserole; season.

Strip leaves from the thyme. Discard twigs.

Toast the almonds in a dry pan.

Cook the pasta according to package directions.
Drain well and add to the cream in the casserole.
Sprinkle with olive oil. Add the shrimp, courgettes,
and almonds. Mix well. Distribute onto heated
serving plates. Pour remaining liquid over and
garnish with chives.
