Ärende: Friday of picnic weekend
================================
   Michael has suggested two possible outings -- both of a non food
   nature, but could be quite interesting to some. These would have to
   be done on Friday 27 July.

   Below I have included some info, posted to Michael a few days ago.
   Since then I have called both places to inquire about tours and
   hours. The NSA Cryptologic museum does give tours, booked in advance
   on a first come first served basis. All available tours for that
   Friday afternoon have been booked. If folks want to go, I'll call
   and book a tour for that Friday morning. We could wander the museum
   on our own without a tour guide, but I think that a guide would make
   it more interesting.

   The Historical Electronics Museum also gives a variety of tours.

   For both places, please give me a response along the lines of
   a. Sounds good -- book it.
   b. Don't care, I'll go if the group wants to.
   c.  Not interested.

   In terms of booking -- I'll have to work in some other things that we
   might want to do. High on my list would be to visit one of the two
   Korean Supermarkets. I'd prefer the one further from us for a couple
   of reasons. Both of them have a lunch counter where one could get a
   variety of dishes -- almost all for under $10. The further one also
   has a Korean/Japanese restaurant just up the way with similar Korean
   dishes (so far as I can tell) plus an all-you-can-eat sushi bar at
   lunch time ($10.95).

   For those who do not want that sort of food, there is a pit-beef
   place up the road a couple of miles away. It has only one picnic
   table outside, but it has really good pit beef.

   Please respond if you are interested in the Korean market. Also if
   you would want to have lunch at one of the two Korean places or at
   the pit beef place.

   Remember that we have planned on going to Blob's Park for dinner
   (German food, beers, and music). It will be a late dinner (say 7:30
   pm) with the music going as long as we might like.

   -- the below was posted before, and gives some URLs to look at if you
   have not already done so ---

 ML> I was thinking: would there be interest on a field trip to
 ML> the cryptology museum (weekdays only)? It appears to offer

   I am aware of that museum, and in fact had already recommended it to
   the Haffly's as a personal side trip. I'd like to hear if the group
   is interested as a whole. Folks can take a look at:
   http://www.nsa.gov/museum/index.cfm
   and follow the various links to read about the exhibits there. They
   could also click on the link below to see an aerial view of the
   building:

 ML> pre-reserved group tours. Also the Historical Electronics
 ML> Museum, for the geekier among us - it's right near BWI -

   This is one I did not know about. I found their web page at:
   http://tinyurl.com/2gunk7

   I'd be interested in hearing the group's opinion on either or both of
   these. I'd expect that one could easily spend a couple of hours or
   more in each, minimum if rushed of one hour. We'd have to do it on
   Friday. Arrival times of folks on Thursday are going to vary,
   Saturday is the picnic here, and Sunday is leftover day:-}}

 ML> I'd figure it was worth the admission price (free) just to
 ML> "hear an enemy SA-2 (SAM) missile lock on to its target"
 ML> without having to suffer the consequences.

  A pleasure I have not experienced:-}}
