===================
Hi Dale,

 RH> either the little tanks or the big ones; if you have a T stand, we can
 RH> hook into that (it comes off a big tank and has several outlets with
 RH> hoses for several appliances). We'd put our lantern on top and run
 RH> our stove & a friends' while camping in Switzerland. I don't think we
 RH> have our T any more tho.

 DS> I had never heard of a T stand and don't have one. But, the 1-lb
 DS> tanks should work for you equally well.

Yes, they should. I don't think we have our T stand any more as the
fitting to the tank was for the older ones that were out lawed some
years ago. I should think a new one would be available in a sporting
good store or Wal-Mart. BTW, we've got our routes all Map Quested and
printed out; Steve's leave is approved and other small odds and ends are
beginning to fall into place for the trip.

 RH> We probably will be staying at Meade so I'll see whatever fruit I can
 RH> get some time on Friday. It sounds like we'll be visiting various
 RH> places where I can; maybe pick some up Thursday afternoon even. We'll
 RH> determine that as time gets closer.

 DS> Sounds like a plan. Sometimes super market peaches are good --
 DS> sometimes they are as bad as a Florida tomato:-}} You could buy
 DS> one   and dash out into the parking lot to have a bit to test:-}}
 DS> Berries
 DS> are usually more acceptable, albeit expensive, in the markets here.

Trouble is, you could get a fantastic test piece of fruit and then not
as good tasting stuff in what you buy. I'll just play it by ear when we
get there.

 DS> It is quite possible that one of our "field" trips will be to one of
 DS> the Korean markets. They often have pretty good and inexpensive
 DS> fresh produce. I think that would be a good source for you.

 RH> Sounds good to me. I'll probably pick up a disposable foil pan to
 RH> cook it in as well.

 DS> Not sure if the Korean market had them, but the regular markets
 DS> certainly do. If you tell Gail what you need, she probably has a
 DS> pan that would work for you. That would save you having to shop

OK, the standard recipe calls for a 9x9 pan; I'd probably go up to a
13x9. It's my standard size for anything more than a family sized
gathering.

 DS> I hope Steve is going to survive his exposure to massive amounts of
 DS>   pork being cooked and served:-}}

 RH> He'll survive quite well. It may be the thing to get him over his
 RH> "phobia" of it. (G) If not, he can go with alternatives as well; I'm
 RH> hoping for the former rather than the latter.

 DS> Haven't heard from Dave Drum in a while. We hope that he and
 DS> Georgia will be coming. He might make some of his chili for the
 DS> group. That would be beef. Gail is doing Cajun meatballs (a take
 DS> off on the Cajun Meatloaf we make sometimes). It has a mix of
 DS> ground beef and ground pork in it.

Dave's chili does sound good; he sent me some of his home made chili
powder when we were in AZ. It was so much better than what's available
in stores; I hope he does come. The Cajun meat balls sound interesting
and a better alternative than meat loaf for a gathering like this. If
we don't tell Steve it has pork in it, he won't be the wiser. (G)

 DS>       Title: German Applesauce Meatloaf
 DS>  Categories: Meatloaf
 DS>       Yield: 8 servings

Now that's a different twist!
