Sounds like a good meal all around! For you and Dave The Clean, blood rare
and blue are the desired levels...I'd have gone with Maryanne and gone for
rare. I tend to like my beef warmed all the way through (grin).

Was it a sharp or extra sharp? Never had Grafton, but 4 years should have
produced a nice distinct sharpness in any cheddar. 

-> Boar's Head Genoa salami - pretty good but altogether too
-> mild and too soft. A reasonable garlic and pepper hit but
-> without the tang that distinguishes a good Genoa.

Hmmm, we get Boars Head Genoa out here ( at Metropolitan Market) and I've
never had it "soft"...it is a bit mild but altogether not a bad Genoa...but
we have little to compare to out here in the hinterlands (grin)

-> Two kinds of gummy Life Savers, one with goo that squirts out
-> when you bite into it, the other coated with acid crystals
-> (citric and lactic). Both were, er, interesting, and I'm not
-> so sure that I'd go out of my way for them. I can't find the
-> packages, so I can't tell you their exact names. Lynnie likes
-> the red goo-filled ones. I didn't find any blue ones, so that
-> might explain some of my lack of interest.

I've boycotted lifesavers since they closed down all the US plants and laid
off all the workers only to reopen the plants north of the border soley for
the purpose to avoiding the tariffs on sugar in the US. Kudo's to them for
not using HFCS, but I won't ever be buying their products again. The cost
savings gained from the reduced cost of sugar Canada went soley into the
corporate profit bucket...no price reduction or benefit to the consumer at
all...no kudo's for that at all.

-> Lindt Excellence 99% - smoother than other 99s, also less
-> aggressive. A pleasant coffee bitterness; shortish finish.

-> Lindt Lemon Tart - pretty good milk chocolate with a quite
-> lemony filling. I wouldn't go out of my way for this, but

Same here I don't think we've bought milk chocolate for a while now.

-> Strawberry Milkshake Oreos - Lynnie said these were awesome,
-> so I tried some. They're nondairy, many points in their
-> favor. Filling reminiscent of strawberry ice cream, cookie
-> part just like regular Oreos. I had several (ceding a chunk
-> of each to Zim, who loves them).

Too many carbs for us but they sound good!
