Considering everything, especially how the suppliers of fresh water
have us over a barrel, as one might say, the prices for this, the
most essential of all essentials, is quite reasonable.

I am thinking you took off a zero someplace? The average USAn
uses, close on 100 gallons a day. Your average shower takes 10 gallons,
and your average toilet flush one or two, so 900 doesn't go that far -
that would come to 3 gallons a day per person. I use 20 or 30 in direct
use a day, and I thought my usage was cut to the bone.

That's health food, you know - "bee pollen."

I wonder if the BT will mutate and start going after other kinds
of critters. There's all this talk in the news about biodecontamination
using bacteria engineered to eat one particular product - there's one
that eats oil, for example, and another that even degrades metal - :
but either of these unleashed into the midst of our urbanized society
could have interesting and horrifying effects.

Lobster mashed potatoes
cat: side
servings: 4

8 md potatoes, peeled, cleaned, diced
8 oz butter
4 oz whole milk
2 cubes lobster base
white pepper
salt
8 oz lobster meat, diced

Boil potatoes until tender. Drain. Return to low heat
and add butter. When butter is melted, mix in milk.
Add lobster base, mixing until fluffy. Season. Fold
in lobster meat.
