We were doing an observational experiment...she had some carcinus 
(european green crab) that she had not fed for over 24 hours so they were 
quite hungry...we put in a small bit of anchovy (from a nearby bait shop) and 
the little buggers jumped on it...so we removed it and put some philine slime 
on the bit of fish...and offered it to them again...each crab (this was done 
with 10 separate crabs in separate containers) grabbed the fish bit when 
offered...tasted it and (in some cases) ran away from it using their claws to 
clean their mouthparts( it really WAS funny to watch!). Subsequent offerings 
wer treated with the utmost caution and only after the crabbies were SURE 
there was not a trace of slime on them would they start to eat!

We went to a Thai place in Sebastopol called the THAI POT...the food was 
decent not great...my panang curry was wimpy and very wet and runny 
(panang as I'm sure you know is supposed to be much thicker and a "dry" 
curry)and tasted about the same as Amanda's Massamun curry...and it's the 
first restaurant that I have been to that charges for the rice to have with 
your curry! Amanda seemed to like it but I don't think Anne and I will give 
them any more money!
