Agreed, but even though money talks in the short term...it speaks with great 
volume! People extoll the virtues of nuclear power...but look at the costs of 
cleanup and waste handling at Savannah River and Hanford and it's waaaay 
more expensive than expected.

The ballast water is used for stability and balance..both of which you can't 
afford to mess with at speed when you have a ship that's already loaded to 
the 'gunnels with cargo and topheavy to boot. You don't wanna introduce a 
starboard list when going 18 knots, and being having a center of gravity that 
is above the waterline!

It looked like the Mariners had no plan, nefarious or otherwise today...they 
played like a bunch of little leaguers, and got slapped silly by the sox fans 
who certainly made up a goodly 30-45% of the total crowd...and  did a much 
better job of supporting their team than the mariner's fans did!
