That would have been OK.  During the period I was out of touch prior to
the picnic I missed the decision to omit plain rices.  As it was, I
also tried the adobo with the multi-grain, and found it quite
satisfactory, as its flavour was powerful enough to rise above the
other, more delicate rice taste.  The adobo was several days old when
eaten, but had been kept refrigerated for all of that time.  This
ensured that the flavours were very well blended.  The high vinegar
content acts as a preservative, so there was no danger of it going bad.
