The package didn't say "candied," did it? If it did. I
didn't see that, and the sweetness came as a surprise to me.

Maybe it was cooked in the gravy or something -
certainly none of my friends and relations would
have willingly eaten more than a couple of bites of
the dumpling I was served!

Use of adjectives is not a straightforward issue in the
wine tasting community. Although such terms as "foxy,"
"cat pee," and "minerally" have a meaning known to wine
aficionadoes, they do not necessarily reflect what normal
people would think of as associated with those terms.
Except cat pee, of course, which is unmistakeable. For a
nice sendoff of the wine toffs, check out the battle
between Monty Mantis vs. Honoria Bird in the John Mortimer
short story entitled, I think, Rumpole and the Blind Tasting.

I agree totally. Lives want enrichment, even if they're
basically good and tolerable lives.

I meant that the finish of both sauces was abrupt and
rather puckery, even despite their up-front sweetness.

1 oz Champagne
1/4 ts Tropical Island Pucker
1/4 ts simple syrup

Shake on ice, serve as a shot.
